This 1937 Soviet aviation propaganda poster by artist Karachentsov Petr Yakovlevich celebrates the heroic achievements of Soviet polar aviation and long-distance Arctic expeditions. The composition shows a Soviet aircraft flying toward the North Pole, where a large red Soviet flag marks the symbolic triumph of exploration and national strength. The upper inscription reads in Russian: «Большевистский привет отважным завоевателям Северного полюса!» which translates as “Bolshevik greetings to the brave conquerors of the North Pole.”
At the bottom of the poster appears a quotation attributed to Stalin: «Нет таких крепостей, которых большевики не могли бы взять», translated as “There are no fortresses that the Bolsheviks could not take.” The slogan reinforces the theme of courage, determination, and ideological resolve, presenting Soviet aviation as a symbol of power, unity, and the conquest of natural forces.
