This poster titled “Завоеваний Октября не отдадим!” (“We will not surrender the conquests of October!”), was created by Artists: N. Sheglov, N. Avvakumov in 1941. It was produced at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, during the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union. The poster shows a Soviet soldier in fierce hand-to-hand combat with a German soldier, whose helmet bears the swastika symbol. Behind them is the Kremlin, symbolizing Moscow and the legacy of the October Revolution that must be defended at all costs. The dramatic contrast of red and black emphasizes determination and sacrifice, conveying a powerful call to protect the achievements of socialism from fascist aggression.
