Happy worker in Sovdepia

In English, the term Bolshevist Russia or Soviet Russia was commonly used for the period 1917-1922. Opponents of Bolsheviks also used the derogatory term Sovdepia or Sovdepiya. It is a contraction of the Russian expression, “Sovet Deputatov”, “Council of Deputies”, which were the governmental authorities at the local levels. In other words, “Sovdepia is the land of sovdeps”
